"Fix this."
:)
I looked up from the book I was currently reading to see my father's face. I did a mental sigh, it wasn't even a request but rather a demand. Sheesh, just because he was my father didn't mean he completely owned me...okay he probably does.
:)
I let out an actual sigh this time and took the laptop in my lap. My father left the room leaving me with no clue as what to do next. Seriously?
:)
I let out a tch, and started to fiddle around and trying to 'fix' the laptop. Eventually I had it going to where it was back to normal and I gave it back to my father once completed.
:)
He simply looked at me and I looked back at him. Then he continued his staring and well I think you get the point. Talk about awkward, so I just left not wanting to stand in the awkward silence anymore. There was only so much awkward a person could stand.
:)
...not even a 'thank you'.
:)
I let the thought leave my mind as I once again concentrated on my book.
:)
...only to be interrupted by my oh so dearest mother(okay I admit there was just a tad of sarcasm laced in there). She started talking about how I was all driving and stuff. I was kind of zoning out which trust me I know is completely disrespectful but I heard this speech at least once a week, possibly more.
:)
"...which is why you'll be driving there." Wait, rewind, what? I ran over what my mother just said trying to comprehend. Seriously? I already had my license I didn't need my parents making me act like a freaking chauffeur. I could literally feel the anger boiling up inside me. I wasn't a freaking kid anymore they needed to give me my space.
:)
I looked back at my mom and saw she was staring at me as if looking for an answer. Well, heck she was gonna be disappointed when I got angry I went silent. So that's what I did. I stared at her and she gave me a 'are you gonna answer' look which I replied with an 'i'm so miffed right now i can't believe you just asked me that' look. She got the point after a couple minutes. Soon enough she left. And I was left fuming.
:)
The next hour was relatively peaceful with only slight disturbances from my brother which I didn't really mind because hey he's my little bro.
:)
Alas, all good things come to an end.
:)
"Why did you hide the money from?!"
:)
"What are you talking about?"
:)
"You freaking know what the heck I'm talking about. We are freaking married! What were you gonna do with that huh?!"
:)
"You don't know anything!"
:)
"Stop insulting my intelligence and just answer the question!"
:)
"It's my money and I can do whatever I want." The voice sounded calm, but I knew better. And boy was that the wrong thing to say.
:)
"Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME?! I make just as much money as you! We are MARRIED?! DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS? WE MAKE DECISIONS TOGETHER! THAT INCLUDES OUR FINANCES...WHICH IS MONEY!!!!!!" Sheesh, my mother screamed like a banshee. Despite what people might think this was one of the more tame arguments my parents had and it was actually quite common...which I know is totally sad. But whatever.
:)
"...just forget it."
:)
"Oh, no, I DON'T THINK SO! This is not over. Whenever we argue you ALWAYS want to just forget about it. But not this time, we are talking about this." Well at least she wasn't screaming as loud.
:)
At this point which I took as the storm being over, I tuned out of the conversation preferring the comforts of my book anyways which did not involve feuding parents. Needless to say I had a very miffed frown on my face at the lack of quiet in the house.
:)
Not a couple minutes later my mother came into my room talking about responsibilities and I wasn't listening again because it was one of the speeches I had already heard. She was actually gone pretty soon.
:)
"Please. Save him, he's my father.'"Isa pleaded to the angel.
:)
"He's a monster and yet you still wish to save him? And not yourself?"The angel questioned Isa curiously. The angel's eyes gazing over the fatal head wound on Isa and also the faint glaze in the girl's eyes.
:)
"Please. Just save him."Isa faintly whispered her head drooping at the loss of blood. Another plea for her father's life on the tip of her tongue.
:)
"...foolish."The angel murmured as he looked at Isa. He had heard stories of Isa. Her mother had left her with her father at the age of three and left to who knew where. Her father was a useless drunk who not to mention was abusive when he was drunk. She didn't have any friends and she had a weak body that was constantly assaulted with illness not to mention abuse from her father.
:)
The girl was strong, he had to at least give her that. So dropping to his knees bowed his head in prayer asking the almighty God, his master to grant him the power to save both Isa and her father. He smiled when he heard God's answer. God was merciful and witness to that was the awakening Isa.
:)
Isa's eyes fluttered open and gazed at the angel then her eyes swiftly found her father. She crawled her way toward's him, with tears glistening in her eyes.
:)
"please be okay,'"she quietly pleaded.
:)
...despite her racing thoughts and the dreadful air in the room, unmistakable was the loud and strong thrum of her father's heart. She couldn't help the relieved and loud sigh that escaped her. But seconds later she collapsed upon her father, but this time in exhaustion instead of the verge of death.
:)
The angel couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him. Even on the verge of death, she was looking after the well-being of her father who abused her. Isa was truly something the angel thought as a soft smile appeared on his face.
:)
I read the last chapter with a smile on my face. Sure it was hardly rational to believe that someone was so utterly selfless and kind but hey the story just proved that good did exist in the world. That despite circumstances it's up to you to decide how to deal with it.
:)
I couldn't stop the happy smile that split my face. My parents blabbering wasn't that big a deal when brought into perspective. I mean really there was so much worse that could be happening. I had never felt so blessed to have parents and a family that despite the nasty times still loved and cared each other.
:)
Really, life wasn't so crummy, I thought with a smile.
